STROKE PSAs

Stroke is the number five killer in this country and is the leading cause of long-term disability. Immediate emergency medical treatment may greatly reduce long-term disability caused by stroke. This campaign aims to educate the public about the signs of a stroke and urge them to act quickly at the sudden onset of the signs to help prevent the devastating effects caused by stroke.

The American Stroke Association® is devoted to saving people from stroke - America's No. 5 killer and a leading cause of serious disability. We team with millions of volunteers to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies, and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent, treat and beat stroke. Together to End Stroke PSA

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s ®Together to End Stroke™ initiative, nationally sponsored by Medtronic, aims to educate all Americans that stroke is largely preventable, treatable and beatable. Through Together to End Stroke™, efforts are focused on increasing awareness and driving action among Americans across the entire stroke continuum of care; prevention, acute treatment, and post-stroke rehabilitation.

From families to healthcare professionals, and corporations to communities, everyone has a critical role to play in creating stroke-aware communities. While stroke is the No. 5 cause of death and a leading cause of long-term disability among adults in the U.S., many Americans do not think of stroke as a major health concern.

We have made a lot of progress, but we still have a ways to go to end stroke and we need your help!

In the U.S., 800,000 people have a stroke each year, one every 40 seconds. Yet, 80% of strokes are preventable, many Americans cannot identify the stroke warning signs, and most stroke survivors and family caregivers do not know where to go for stroke recovery information. This presents a great opportunity to work together to teach Americans how to prevent a stroke, as well as how to recognize, respond to, and recover from a stroke. With your help, we can close the gap in stroke awareness and help save lives.

Let's work Together to End Stroke™.

Join the Together to End Stroke™ community to learn about how you can help spread stroke awareness and receive monthly updates about American Stroke Association® news, health tips and events.

ASSETS AND ACCESS: The PSA can be placed within free and paid media, or usage with a sponsor logo. If you have any questions about the usage of the PSA, please contact Julie Grabarkewitz.

Please note the Together to End Stroke™ PSA expire on April 31, 2018.
